Shimla

 Ridge
 road is a large open space, located in the heart of Shimla, the capital city of Himachal PradeshIndia. The Ridge is the hub of all cultural activities of Shimla. It is situated along the Mall Road, which is the famous shopping center of Shimla. Most major places of Shimla like Snowdon, MallJakhoo hill, etc. are connected through the Ridge. 





Jakhoo Temple 
                                                        Is an ancient temple in Shimla, dedicated to Hindu deity, Hanuman.
It is situated on Jakhoo Hill, 2.5 km /1.3 miles east from the Ridge, Shimla at a height of 2,455 m (8,000 feet) above sea level.[2] Shimla's highest peak offers a panoramic view of the Shivalik Ranges and the town of Sanjauli.

An ancient "Lord Hanuman" temple is there and every year a big festival is held on Dushera . You can go to the temple by foot (a steep climb) from Ridge (path behind the church) or can hire a pony/horse. Taxis are available too


Tara Davi Temple

           The history of this temple dates back to about 250 years  when this temple was built here.  There is a belief that the goddess Tara was brought  to Himachal Pradesh all the  way from the eastern state  of Bengal .  Hundreds of years ago a king from the Sen Dynasty  visited this area.  This king had brought  his family deity  in the form of a small gold Idol encased in a  locket  which he always wore around his upper arm.  For many years the idol remained encased   but in the 96th generation of sen dynasty , Raja Bhupendra Sen one day had an unusual  experience while  hunting in the  dense forest  of Juggar , near by the present  temple, where he had a vision  of his holy family deity goddess  :"Maa Tara" along with her Dwarpal  Bhairav and Hanuman Ji , who expressed her  keen desire to be unveiled before the  people. 


Naldehra 

Nestled between the beautiful lofty ranges of the Himalayas, lies the Naldehra hill station. The Naldehra hill resort near Shimla is no less than a picture perfect destination. The blue skies, lush green forests and an occasional rainbow thrown in makes the place look like it has been painted on a canvas. The most famous attraction of Naldehra hill station is the 18 - hole golf course that is considered to be the most challenging golf course. This is because it is situated at an altitude of 2044 meters! The Golf course is one of the most gorgeous stretches of land in Naldehra.


Kufri
 is a small hill station in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh state in India. It is located 13 km from the state capital Shimla on the National Highway No.22.
The highest point in the surrounding region, Kufri has a Himalayan wild life Zoo which hosts rare antelopes, felines and birds including the Himalayan monal, the state bird of Himachal Pradesh. During winter a meandering path through the potato plantations turns into a popular ski trac The name Kufri is derived from the word kufr meaning "lake" in the local language.


Rampur

The principality of Bashahr (also known as Bashahar, Bushahar, Bushahr) was once among the largest of the twenty-eight Shimla Hill States under the administration of the British Raj keen to invest on regional and transcontinental trade and exploit Himalayan resources. It bordered on the north with Spiti, on the east with Tibet, on the south with Garhwal, and on the west with Jubbal, Kotkhai, Kumharsain, Kotgarh, and Kullu. Caught in the machinations of the British imperial enterprise, it was subjected to political-cum-economic vicissitudes, acceding to the Indian Union in 1947. On 8 March 1948, along with twenty other princely hill States of Punjab and Shimla, Bashahr signed an agreement which resulted in its inclusion in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh.
